NOTD Speciallità HITS no Olimpo Hera

it's a toss up between this and Hefesto for my favs of the Hits holos. 

it is a little more teal/green irl but i am trial and erroring the photo thing. (i really just need a new camera but that won't be happening soon.) still, considering how many photos i took before i got one worth posting (and how much time i spent on it!) i am pretty pleased with this one :) 

i am almost out of usable Poshe and no Olimpos very shiny on their own so i didn't topcoat. i forget how long polish takes to dry other wise! except for ChG holos which dry almost instantly i always use a super fast dry like Seche Vite or Poshe. it's been years since i have skipped topcoating and i am reminded clearly why. nail polish never dries! lol i dinged the middle finger i-don-t-even-remember-how like 30 minutes after i painted. a nice chunk scraped off :/ i dabbed a little more on Hera top and sealed with a thin layer of CND Speedey just so i didn't rinse & repeat the mistake. no topcoat on the rest. doesn't seem to affect the er, effect of the holo goodness. 

i can't wait til i get that HUGE bottle of Poshe I ordered on evil bay. i hope it's thin and fresh and nice. nothing like a brand new bottle of topcoat! i kind of ordered from a shady seller. not that 99.6% positive feedback should be considered shady but negative feedback is negative. sellers that handle thousands of dollars worth of product a week aren't going ot have every single transaction go smoothly. plus, i know first hand things can get lost in the mail and miscommunications can happen so i always check out how the seller responds to negative feedback. even those the seller i bought from had some very angry customers leave negative feedback the responses were all apologetic. unlike the seller that the Poshe for a couple dollars cheaper and with "better" feedback. that seller was tickle something or other. i will never never buy from that seller. in her responses to feedback s/he calls the buyers "idiots" and other nasties. packing things poorly and then expecting photgraphic evidence of spills before s/he will refund. grossed me out. i wish ebay had a way to block sellers so i can steer clear of bad ebayers.

closing the books on 2011

Yuletide Greetings sparklesnatches! 

what a year eh? 2011 for me was quite a wild ride. i started early in the year gathering and reselling hard to find polishes like the China Glaze holos and SH Prisms then opened it up to sell selected current colors and finally decided to make my own. i had to learn so very many things on my own. there are entire days where all i do is make phones calls and do internet research. i could not have done it without the Gets Nailed group on ravelry. the support & feedback i get from all of you on GN, twitter and the people i interact with everyday is priceless. some days it's the only thing that keeps me going. 

 i want to apply the knowledge i have gained in 2011

and start afresh with t&h for 2012. and so,

the t&h shop on BigCartel will close for the holidays later today 

and will remain closed until further notice. 

while i am in holiday mode you will still be able to browse the tweeandhoney.bigcartel.com for reference. and there is a Signature color index on the blog here. as i have not yet decided if i am staying on BigCartel (and i am working hard on new products, stock piling and implementing these big changes all by myself) i cannot specify an official re-opening date at this time. i will, however, continue to take order requests via email in the interim for items on hand. custom requests will be considered on a case by case basis. inquiries should be addressed to tweeandhoney@gmail.com with a subject please. 

(like: Order, Custom request, Question etc...) order requests will need to be confirmed and and invoiced. i won't officially be back in work mode until January 3rd but i will still respond to emails in the meantime. it may take me some time to reply so please be patient. 

besides a better way for you to shop i am also working on a linear holo collection (yes, really Linear!), holo frankenbases for you home chemists, logos, labels & packaging and tons more. although the holo stuff may end up being limited edition i hope that gives you 

 something to look forward to for the new year :)

The idea of completely overhauling the shop & basically starting fresh with t&h has been floating around in my brain for long enough that i should give you gals fair warning. i have some big projects brewing that are soon to bubble over. Exciting things! that i think you will all be pleased with. While the re-vamping of twee & honey is not yet at a stage where i can give too many specifics, i want to give you a heads up so it doesn't come at you from behind. 

One thing i will comment on is the shop itself. i am considering options other than BigCartel. i don't take the decision to move the web shop lightly. i want things to be as simple as possible and changing the web address and entire layout of the shop, while meant to ultimately simplify your shopping experience, could potentially complicate things. 

Considering all the factors though, moving the shop may be the best way to go forward. it is possible that i may not re-open for business after closing for the holiday until after transitioning the shop to it's new home. i'll do my best to keep you guys posted along the way although i am not quite sure how the timeline will lay out.

holiday update

you may be wondering: "hey! where are those Christmahannukwanzika glitters??? you tease!"

 armed only with a damaged point and shoot and an ithing camera i had to go and make a collection of cray glitters didn't i? lol what can i say? i'm learning as i go along. i can at least own up to my missteps.  while the photography adventures with the holiday colors taught me a lot the results were failtastic. it's a bit embarrassing but i have to admit that it's beyond too late to post these for holiday. (can you say duh?) i am pushing the release date into the new year -which is only a couple weeks away. i apologize to those that were waiting. and while this may come as a disappointment, i think what i have coming for January will make up for it. ;)
